Meet Reza Hooda

Hi, I’m Reza, Founder of Capture Accounting and fellow content creator!

I started life at PwC (the world’s largest accounting firm) where I qualified as a chartered accountant and tax advisor and gained experience in advising private clients and entrepreneur’s on structuring their affairs tax efficiently.

Entrepreneurial Leap

In 2008, I got an opportunity to buy a small firm near Southampton (Walji & Co) and left PwC because I'd always wanted to run my own business. I never thought it would be an accounting firm but it’s what I knew and enabled me to directly apply the skills and tax saving strategies I'd picked up at PwC.
 

Business Expansion and Coaching

I grew the firm to a team of 10 and managed to get the firm to run without me by building a system and giving ownership to my incredible team. I then set up another business coaching and mentoring other accounting firm owners to help them do the same!

Capture Accounting's Inception

In 2021, I launched Capture Accounting (as a separate brand) to focus on serving content creators and influencers that I saw as a growing opportunity. I was also passionate about the sector as I spent a lot of time creating content to build my secondary coaching business so I could absolutely relate to other content creators.

Specialisation and Expertise

Having worked with a couple of big influencers like Mike Thurston we realised there are so many nuances and particular tax rules that are specific to creators who receive income from various sources. That led us to go deeper into serving this sector by becoming experts in matters like EU VAT, non-resident tax matters and distance selling regulations which most generalist accountants often miss.

A Passion for Helping Creators

We’re passionate now about helping creators and influencers by taking the pain away of managing their finances and helping them keep more of what they earn so they can concentrate on doing what they do best - growing their audience and income!

Most of my time is now spent creating content and coaching accountants via a membership community called the Profitable Accountants Community. I’ve written a book, have a weekly podcast and regularly put out video content on LinkedIn. I also regularly speak from stages at accounting conferences.

Having a great team at Capture Accounting allows me to do what I love - the teaching and content creation for accountants. I also get to spend quality time with my family - being a father of four!

Strategic Vision

Whilst I am not heavily involved in the delivery of accounting services at Capture I am still responsible for our strategy and marketing and ensuring that we continue to develop our specialism to add value to our selected niche of serving content creators and influencers. In doing so we hope to be the no. 1 accounting brand in this space!
